Each year, the New England Newspaper Hall of Fame honors the talent, hard work, and exceptional accomplishments of extraordinary individuals working in New England newsrooms. Their dedication to the craft inspires journalists across our region.
The 2025 inductees were:
- Stephen Kurkjian, a three-time Pulitzer Prize winner renowned for his investigative reporting with The Boston Globe’s Spotlight team.
- Paul Pronovost, former editor of the Cape Cod Times, recognized for his leadership and dedication to community journalism.
- Naomi Schalit and John Christie, co-founders of the Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, were celebrated for their commitment to investigative journalism and public service.
Who’s Eligible

Nominees should be people who have made extraordinary contributions to their newspaper(s), the newspaper industry, and their communities.

NENPA membership is not required.

Individuals from any area of newspaper operations are eligible—editorial, advertising, circulation, production, administration, etc.

Active, retired, and posthumous nominations are welcome.
How to Nominate
Please submit a letter of nomination describing your nominee’s achievements and why they merit induction into the Hall of Fame. Include any supporting materials—testimonials, work samples, clippings, links, or other documentation that strengthens the nomination.
