    First Five Now presents a panel discussion centered around the new documentary, “Raise Your Voice,” which follows the student journalists at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School navigating their school’s mass shooting as both survivors and journalists.

    The documentary explores youth free speech history in America, connecting the Parkland, Fla., students to a broader story about young voices and their power through social movements.

    Panelists are:

    • Maribeth Romslo, director, cinematographer, editor and executive producer, “Raise Your Voice;”
    • Rebecca Schneid, former editor-in-chief, The Eagle Eye at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School;
    • Mary Beth Tinker, American free speech activist known for her role in the 1969 Supreme Court case, Tinker v. Des Moines Independent Community School District, which set a precedent for students’ rights to free speech in schools.

    This program will premiere Oct. 8 at 3 p.m. EDT on our YouTube channel.
