Good news! We heard you.
Between covering breaking news, summer vacations, community events, and everything else that comes with running a newsroom, many of you told us you needed just a little more time to finish your Fall Awards contest entries.
We get it. So we’re giving you that time.
The deadline to enter the 2026 NENPA Fall Awards has been extended to Wednesday, July 15.
If you’ve already submitted your entries, thank you! You’re all set.
If you were racing the clock, consider this your opportunity to take one more look, add that story you almost forgot, nominate a deserving colleague, or finally hit Submit.
As you’re reviewing your entries, don’t forget the awards that recognize the people behind New England’s journalism. In addition to honoring outstanding reporting, photography, editorials, investigative journalism, and overall newsroom excellence, the Fall Awards Program also celebrates the individuals whose leadership and dedication strengthen our profession.
Consider nominating a deserving colleague for these individual awards:
- AP Sevellon Brown New England Journalist of the Year – Recognizes an individual journalist whose body of work demonstrates exceptional achievement and service to the profession.
- Bob Wallack Community Journalism Award – Celebrates the accomplishments of someone who, over a sustained period of time, has faithfully served the community for which they are responsible and has played an active, constructive role in contributing to its quality of life.
- The Cornerstone Award – Recognizes and honors unsung heroes in our news organizations who meaningfully and significantly contribute to the accomplishments of our publications without recognition.
- New England Journalism Educator of the Year – Honors educators who inspire and prepare the next generation of journalists.
These awards recognize the journalists, educators, and community leaders whose work makes outstanding local journalism possible.
Don’t miss this opportunity to showcase your best work and recognize the people who make it happen. We can’t wait to see your entries.
If you have any questions about the awards or the entry process, please contact info@nenpa.com.
Good luck!
