The 2027 Report for America Host Newsroom application opens September 14th, with 80 new positions available to newsrooms across the country. The deadline to apply is October 19.

RFA is looking to support newsrooms interested in expanding coverage and strengthening their reporting capacity and sustainability efforts — particularly those focused on:

  • Under covered communities and beats

  • Photography and visual journalism

  • Sports reporting

  • Rural communities

  • Communities of color

We also encourage BIPOC-led and BIPOC-serving newsrooms to apply.
