The Times Record/ Estate PLUS is seeking an account executive.  The successful candidate will contact businesses in an assigned area in person/by phone/via email.  Assigned area - Topsham, Lisbon Falls and Freeport - contains many well-established advertisers as well as many prospective advertisers. 

Compensation is a mix of salary and commission.  A good sales rep will earn in the upper $40s annually, a great rep can earn $50K or more. Reimbursement is included for mileage and smartphone service.

  • o Identify challenges and emerging issues faced by the organization; work with leadership team and staff to recognize external communications opportunities and solutions; define and execute appropriate strategies to support them
  • o Develops, monitors, and evaluates strategies, materials, and programs to promote Association programs, services and activities
  • o Build relationships with key stakeholders including volunteers/members/customers, media, court, legislative groups, providers and consumers of legal assistance, the general public, etc.        
  • o Manage measurement and evaluation of organization-wide and individual department and program communication goals
  • o Provide content for and oversee all Bar communication vehicles including print, video, online and social media
  • o Serve as a spokesperson and lead point person on media interactions

Key Qualifications 

  • Minimum 4-year Degree in Communication, Public Relations or related field; Master's Degree preferred
  • Respected consultant to Senior Management,  other staff and volunteers  
  • Demonstrated skill and comfort in proactively building relationships with key stakeholders including members/customers, media, legislative groups, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience and leadership in managing a comprehensive strategic communications, media relations and public affairs program to advance the organization's mission and goals
  • Experience producing and overseeing communications including print, video, online and social media
  • Collaborative and persuasive communicator with creative problem solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs
  • Capacity for overseeing and analyzing research relevant to the organization
  • Stature, expertise and confidence to gain the credibility and respect of the organization
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Experience in building, coaching and mentoring a team of communication specialists
