Foster's Daily Democrat, an award winning daily newspaper based in Dover, N.H., seeks candidates for the Night News Editor position. This is an important position on the news editor staff with responsibility for completing the newsroom cycle of manufacturing the newspaper. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 4 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. The successful candidate must have good news judgment and common sense, the ability to understand and follow directions yet confident enough to make changes and know when to seek advice. The news editor must work well with reporters and be an accomplished news copy editor. This night editor works with other editors developing news and feature stories for the daily, Sunday and weekly newspapers. Applicants should be highly motivated, capable of working in a competitive news environment and understand the commitment it takes to work as journalist at a small daily newspaper.
