Participants will learn about the American women’s suffrage movement through the lens of the First Amendment and media coverage of the movement. Attendees to this free webinar will discover how the movement embraced press freedom to fill a void in coverage of their plans and actions, creating their own diverse publications to strengthen their cause.
Participants also learn how women’s suffrage activists embraced all five First Amendment freedoms and through their commitment to exercising freedom of speech and assembly broadened our practical understanding of how to apply those rights.
